As part of the lead up to the 2022 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship slated for Monday, January 10, the 2022 Indianapolis Host Committee unveiled a college football poster show, 22 For 22 (click here to view poster designs), today, at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) in Civic Plaza.
The display includes artwork from 22 graphic designers and illustrators from around central Indiana. The artists were joined by Susan Baughman, president of the 2022 Indianapolis Host Committee, Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, artists and community leaders.
“This exhibit is another prime example of how the Indianapolis Host Committee is devoted to finding inclusive ways to support local artists and central Indiana teachers,” Baughman said. “Not only do these posters highlight the artistic talent in Indy, but they also provide football fans with a first look at how Indianapolis will be activated from start to finish during CFP national championship weekend.”
The art exhibit includes 22 unique poster designs showcasing different aspects of football. The designs will be framed and on display at the Indianapolis International Airport through Tuesday, Jan. 11.
“The 22 For 22 poster show is a welcome addition to the Indy airport’s many temporary and permanent art pieces, highlighting the talents of Indiana artists,” Rodriguez said. “We’re honored to be among the first to welcome college football fans to the city with our award-winning customer service and to showcase the art of the game.”
In support of the College Football Playoff Foundation and its mission to uplift teachers grades PK-12, art enthusiasts and football fans alike can bid on a framed 24x36 print of their favorite design. All proceeds from the artwork will be donated to Teach Indy to support local teachers.
Alongside placement at the airport, the framed posters will also be displayed and available for bidding at the Taste of the Championship on Sunday, Jan. 9, which will be held at the Indiana State Museum. This event will be an opportunity for fans to sample gourmet food and drinks from dozens of chefs from across Indianapolis and around the country with proceeds benefitting the CFP Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers initiative.
